This Tug uses a 7.2v battery that was split into 2 halfs, and resoldered about 2 inches apart to straddle the drive train.  Charges the same as original battery.  It also balances the boat in the water and keeps the CG low.  This Tug is good for pond, but has little freeboard.  The scuppers are sealed with clear plastic to prevent water entry.  This boat sunk on it's first voyage because a battery shifted, hence the split battery.  All survived but the receiver.  My only lost at sea.......
