August 4, 2016 PSMS Meeting Minutes
The August 2016 Philadelphia Ship Model Society monthly meeting was called to order at 7:11 PM by President Fred Signor, who led the Pledge of Allegiance. Jim Wheeler, Vice President, introduced Jason Hall, curator of the battleship New Jersey. Jason made a very interesting presentation on the New Jersey, the longest of the four Iowa class battleships. Launched on December 7, 1942 she went down the rails stern first and ran aground on the New Jersey side. After her service in WW 2, she was recommissioned and fought in Korean Conflict.
Jim Wheeler announced that due to an extended program for September, there would be no Show N Tell at the September 1 meeting.

A summary and photographs will be posted on the web site. Some unique items were displayed.
The Treasurers report and meeting minutes were approved.
Joe Jordan indicated model shack volunteers were needed. Some questions were asked on what was expected and what the experience was like. The handful of member who carry the bulk of the shack time were all very positive. .
Todd Wardwell will coordinate parking at the September 1 meeting.
Spencer Anderson and Joe Jordan discussed a request from the ISM to participate in Coast
Day on September 10. A motion was approved and Spencer Anderson will chair an organizing committee.
